Meet Miss. Abby
Abby DeTorrice, MOT, OTR/L, is a pediatric occupational therapist with over 7 years of experience providing occupational therapy services in outpatient and school-based settings. As an Indiana native, Abby is passionate about supporting schools and students by providing accessible, evidence-based OT services that help children participate, learn, and succeed.
During the COVID-19 pandemic, Abby transitioned her therapy sessions to a virtual format and quickly recognized the unique benefits of teletherapy. She saw firsthand how virtual services created new opportunities for collaboration with teachers, parents, and support staff, allowing the entire team to be more actively involved in the therapeutic process.
Through teletherapy, Abby witnessed the impact of bringing OT strategies directly into students’ everyday environments. Parents and educators gained a deeper understanding of students’ needs and learned practical techniques to support skill development, regulation, independence, and participation beyond the therapy session.
Abby believes that effective occupational therapy is built on collaboration. Through AlwaysOT, she partners with schools to provide personalized OT support while empowering the people who know students best—their families and educational teams.
